Bamburgh is a large village on the coast of Northumberland. It is a beautiful place with everything that you would imagine an English Village would have; a cricket pitch, golf course, great pubs, an amazing butcher’s and of course Bamburgh Castle.
But I am drawn to the beach. It is a vast and magical place. On most days you can see to the Farne Islands and down to Seahouses. It is that expance of sand that moves with the tide that mesmerizes me. It is a very popular beach most times of the year but you can always find a sheltered quite dune from which to observe and draw.
On this day, it was very dark and stormy. Then the sky opened just a little to shine on the beach up ahead. The skies in this area are very energetic.
