Bamburgh is a large village on the coast of Northumberland. It is a beautiful place with everything that you would imagine an English Village would have; a cricket pitch, golf course, great pubs an amazing butcher’s and of course Bamburgh Castle. But I am drawn to the beach. It is vast and magical place.
On most days you can see to the Farne Islands and down to Seahouses. It is that vast space of sand that moves with the tide that mesmerizes me. It is a very popular area most times of the year but you can always find a sheltered quite part to observe and draw.
I was taken with the image of the person looking out to sea. I wanted to capture the movement of the grass in the foreground in comparison to the solitary figure.
