Bamburgh is a large village on the coast of Northumberland. It is a beautiful place with everything that you would imagine an English Village would have; a cricket pitch, golf course, great pubs, an amazing butcher’s and of course Bamburgh Castle. But I am drawn to the beach.
It is a vast and magical place. On most days you can see to the Farne Islands and down to Seahouses. The tidal difference in this area is considerable; at low tide the beach is left with wonderful sweeps of water, shells and sand. It is a great place for walkers and their dogs, riders and their horses, which leaves lots of prints in the sand.
I love the textures, I love the idea the tide will come in and again the canvas will be blank.
